Vision
To maintain international reputation as a facility for chemical engineering education and research that is considered to be indispensable by the WA industries and highly respected in the Asian-Pacific region.
Mission
To undertake teaching and research in chemical and process engineering and to work with industry, government, the community and the profession to help increase national wealth and professional advancement.
Objectives
- Maintain a dynamic undergraduate teaching program of the highest quality for the education of future chemical and process engineers.
- Establish and maintain an active postgraduate training program in which able graduates are trained in cutting-edge and applied chemical engineering research and development in a stimulating atmosphere and a well-equipped research environment.
- Contribute to the advancement of chemical and process engineering through high quality research and scholarly activities, and encourage international research collaborations.
- Ensure the provision of adequate modern laboratory, computing and associated teaching and research facilities and support services.
- Foster staff development, recognise individual achievements and provide staff with an enjoyable work environment.
- Encourage cross-disciplinary, multi-level and multi-stage collaborations in teaching and research.
- Develop and maintain partnership with industry, governments, the profession, the community and other educational institutions for mutual benefits
- Market the Department's educational programs locally, nationally, and internationally.
